Double envy truth being Pete is prepared to get in debt to have what he wants or did you miss that bit.
Any chance of taking The Witcher 3 for a drive with your setup? I want to see if 60FPS is possible with 'hairworks' turned on fully!
Thanks dude. I'm not a fantasy fan, so I haven't bought it. If it drops to 75% off (on Steam) I'll pick it up and give it a go. I also have the first two games and I'd be loath to play the third without the back story!
Well, Teel very generously sent me a flashy SLI connector, his only request that I show a picture of it installed: Once again, many thanks dude
Looks great Pete much better than it looked in the cupboard Yeah wasn't really aimed at you, was more the other DH
Pete, you've outdone yourself with these! But I got to ask, how long will you be keeping them for? The rig looks lovely mate, well the little insider shot.
That's a lovely setup, Pete. Thanks for taking the time to test all those games on different configurations. Do you think the fourth card was worth it, given the diminishing returns on scaling? Other than not getting full use of that snazzy 4-way bridge from Tel (Nice one, old fella!)
I could fry eggs on the back plate of my titan x. I've no idea how you are dealing with all of that heat!
Well, based on how long the original Titans seemed to last, I'd say four years - so stop eyeing them up . Is it worh it from a value point of view? Absolutely not. Is it worth it to get framerates to stay above 60FPS? For me, yes! I think that 4 way SLI is now a much more mature technology than it was and if you need that extra little bit of 'umph' to get framerates up, the fourth GPU will be a boost rather than a hindrance. Looking ahead, it'll be interesting to see what happens when Nvidia launches its next dual GPU card. I think we'll see some very powerful mATX builds! A custom fan profile in Afterburner that allows the fans to go to 100% - only an option because I use closed ear headphones!
