I didn't know Cherry RGBs were available to other manufacturers. I thought it was still a Corsair exclusive.

Reading between the lines of the product page it looks like Ducky have stuck with a fairly simple hardware implementation rather than the complex programmable software Corsair has? I wonder if it will have the same flexibility etc.

First foray into a mechanical keyboard.

Saw a Roccat RYOS TKL pro on a facebook selling page for £45 (£110 new and this is only 6 months old) so decided to go for it, still don't know what a mechanical keyboard is like to use as my daughter laid claim to it.

So Corus Keyboards have been a complete bunch of asshats.

Ordered a set of PBT caps from them, received them on the 3rd October but was missing one key. They said they would ship the missing key. That never arrived and they were less than responsive to further emails requesting an update.

So opened a PayPal case against them yesterday requesting the missing key or a refund and their response?

Send it back for a full refund.

No offer of sending the one missing key. No apology.

Not sure why you'd be upset specifically about them offering to resolve it with a refund when you opened a dispute on them asking for a replacement or a refund. Sucks about the lack of prior communication though, these boys are always running around with their hair on fire.

All I've requested right from the very start was for them to send me the single missing key and they have never bothered. One key.

The Vortex PBT caps are lovely and I would love to keep them. Surely it would have been easier for them to send the key and retain a customer rather than be useless?

Oh and that was the complete communication from them, one line, nothing else.

So to replace the (incomplete) Vortex caps which have been returned to sender I purchased the following from UK Keycaps. Super fast service and a complete set of keys too!

Tai-Hao PBT double shot ISO and ANSI.

Kustom PCs should be able to sort you out if anyone can. Give them a shout, if there's "stock in the channel" they will know about it.

They provide excellent service in my experience.

Affordable TKL to dip a toe in the Mech Keyboard water

I like the idea of a decent TKL keyboard to take to LAN nights, and wondered if the original Corsair K65 is OK, or is that heresy?

I know it has a non standard key set and limits the choice of replacement keys, and therefore limiting getting really hooked into the whole mech addiction :D

Is lack of customisation good or bad? I'd say bad, but as you say it helps the wallet out with not being forced into forking out for new keysets.

Thanks, but blacks aren't for me; I'm a conservative fellow with switches, browns all the way!

I'm using blacks at the moment. Not a patch on blues, but I can't be faffed swapping switches on this crazy-arse ergonomic monstrosity. At least they're quieter, I guess!

I used to love blues for typing, but now I'm working in an open-plan office on the phone all the time a set of browns is much needed. :)

Does anyone know a utility to remap keys? I'm missing a backslash on my little Leopold TKL and it makes working from home a right faff. I've tried one that was on github or codeplex (can't remember which) but it didn't work...
