    I've read all the blurbs and PR, but I still don't know what it actually does...

    Is it supposed to sit on your desk, have a look at you and go "Damn Dave, you're looking a bit **** - i'll order some multivitamins for ya!"??

    Do you hold up objects and ask it "what is this, I don't even?" and it directs you to a Wikipedia page??

    Jack all. It's for devs who want to build things like...
    ...or any one of a number of other tasks, like spotting when your pet comes in the house (or a foreign pet stealing food), looking out for burglars, monitoring livestock, deciding when to pick fruit, building a working Cheesoid...

    *However*, it won't do any of these out-the-box. You have to write the Clever Stuff yourself, hence it being sold by AWS to developers rather than by Amazon to the unwashed masses.
