Anyone get this to play on a 3440 x 1440 widescreen monitor?
Tried custom resolution in the .ini but still rubbish.
There is even a mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24630/? but does not work with me though this might be down to me but i do use the Nexus Mod Manager.

Edit: Just about sorted it except I have a white bar along the top with Fallou4 in the far left of the screen, but overall the game looks great.

Tried that one and that completely buggered up the game, but thanks anyway. Think I have got it sorted now.

Was looking forward to trying this on my triple screen set up. Nope.

I am sure I saw a mod somewhere on Nexus for a triple screen set up but if it is half as much of a faff as getting wide-screen to work then it probably is not worth the bother.

I think this is the only game in my large collection that has given me problems and I do love the 34 inches of my Dell curved monitor.

Even among Bethesda games it sticks out like a sore thumb since they are one of the best publishers when it comes to ultrawide support: Skyrim, Dishonored 1+ 2, Doom, Prey, Wolfenstein 1 + 2 and Evil Within 2 all support it out of the box and that list is most likely incomplete as its just from the top of my head.

I got that it is playable but certainly not perfect but I had forgotten how laborious the game is.

Sadly it is one of the very, very few games I even play any more. So yeah, would have ruined my experience.

A bit of tweaking and I have got it looking fine, not perfect but very playable.

This is what I am getting as I have too play in windowed mode as anything else is unplayable.
The only real issue is in the Perks menu as I cannot get to the lower choices all the time.

That's the trade off. Something is always niggly and not perfect. Shame, because it looks like if Bethesda could have been arsed to do it properly it would look ace. Which reminds me, I must get a wireless controller next week and resume play on my 65" TV. Only does 1080P but am going to try VSR to 1440p with my Fury X. Just gotta hope it has enough VRAM.

Had to reinstall Fallout 4 and now I am trying to figure out exactly what I did the last time and failing miserably.

All I changed was the ini files to allow 3440x1440 at fullscreen and the FOV in game to get it running on my ultra wide, it's probably not 100% perfect but it plays perfectly fine and I don't notice any difference to when I was running 1920x1080. I never installed a specific mod for it though.

What do you by changing the FOV exactly?

Changing the res to 3440x1440 seems to ruin the FOV so changing it in the games console to 90 90 (based on what I'd read) brings it back to something thats much easier to live with. I've not had any problem viewing any of the menus/Pipboy etc..

Can you be a bit more detailed about where to change the FOV I know where to input the resolution figures in the two pref files, one in My Games and the other in the Steam etc file but have not got a clue where the FOV setting is.

The FOV settings are in the Fallout4.ini you just need to change

    [Display]
    fDefaultWorldFOV=
    fDefault1stPersonFOV=

Like I said I have mine set to 90 for both World and 1stPerson. You can change them from the game console whilst in game to test what you prefer, thats just done by bringing up the console whilst in game and typing fov 90 90
doing it this way will reset to the default after closing the game though, but is useful to see the difference in real time before changing the .ini
