Hi everyone, A little help please. My PC has recently given up, fell down, went kaput, and it is time that certain parts were replaced. I have a budget of £400 to £450 and require motherboard, CPU, and memory. I have no preference towards either Intel or AMD and no particular brand loyalty on anything else either. It will be used for a bit of gaming every now and then, things like Fallout 4 being the most taxing. As far as memory amount goes, I really don't know what's needed these days, I used to run 6GB then went up to 24 as I got a seriously good deal on an end of line triple channel kit, most bundles that I have seen seem to come with 8 now. Graphics-wise I will be retaining my 980Ti so that is sorted, drives are all OK, possibly a little slow by current standards but useable. PSU should be fine (Corsair 650W modular jobbie), case is sticking around (Coolermaster ATCS 840 so board size will not be a problem at all...). I wouldn't normally be asking this sort of stuff, but it has been a while to say the least, I am coming from a socket 1366 board which originally had an i7 920 on it so.... yeah, things have moved on somewhat since then. Thanks everyone
£450 just for CPU, mobo and memory is pretty easy - loads of options! What I would go for personally: MSI B450 Tomahawk - £106.99 Ryzen 5 2600 - £169.99 Team Group Vulcan T-Froce 16GB 3200Mhz DDR4 - £154.99
Excellent, thanks. I shall take a nosey through those. The loads of options bit is the thing that I am struggling with. So much has changed since I last delved into this sort of thing, my head went pop and I got somewhat lost...
