News Foxconn scales back Wisconsin facility plans

I would certainly hope not, those things are really heavy.

 

In two years time Foxconn is gonna say "you know what, we're not even gonna do R&D in Wisconsin, but thanks for the dosh."
China's going to shrug it off while muttering "somethingsomethingtradewarssomething."

 

You would hope that whoever wrote the government funding deal made it contingent on things like work starting, people hired and measurable progress milestones. However, I've seen enough Government Investment deals to know that the people writing are usually either very stupid or being set up for a post Government position with one of the companies they're handing the money to.
