I'm spending 10 hours on an aeroplane and figure it would be a good idea to load my laptop with a couple of games to waste a few hours while flying. Can anybody suggest anything? Laptop is a Dell XPS 15. Must not need internet connection to play.
Might help to give some ideas of what you like.... But lately been playing a bunch of Oxygen Not Included and it's very playable on a laptop due to ability to pause, no need for reflex actions etc. Then in general I'd also add in most city builder type games for similar reasons.
I have both Half-Life and Half-Life 2 already installed. I haven't played many games over the last few years so I'm open to options really.
CIV 5 or 6 assuming you can get steam to play nicely in offline mode. Just one more turn your way through the 10 hours. Vaguely related - I sometimes travel for work on 6+ hour flights. My usual tactic is to watch a couple of terrible movies (that I wouldn't pay to watch and dont mind being displayed in ****-'o'-vision on a plane), a couple of tv show episodes of something funny and read a kindle during take-off / landing when they turn of the in-flight stuff. Open to any suggestions of good offline Android games though to pass the time.
Load some games or films on your phone or tablet to keep yourself occupied like everyone else. For the sake of those around you - the fan noise ins't going to make you any friends any playing anything strenuous for any period of time on a crowded plane will make you a bad person.
Laugh maniacally every time you crash a plane. Bonus points if you yell "praise God!" in any language.
It means new hardware (and it references console herasy) but I found playing Mario Kart 8 on the switch at 35000 feet very amusing on a recent 11 hour flight to San Diego. Recommended
I second this tactic. I also have a couple times discover what you thought was a terrible movie turned out to be actually good. Also if you are a Netflix subscriber, some shows/movies can be downloaded for offline viewing. I watch Vikings this past summer while flying.
Free and AWESOME. Should take you ~10 hours. Since Steam can be played offline: Should be able to complete on the return. Two of my most favourite games ever. You will have BALLS OF STEEL after playing them. You're welcome.
