If these are the APU's announced at CES, then I'm underwhelmed.
I was hoping for high end 7nm zen 2 mobile CPU's paired with 7nm Navi mobile CPU'S. All we got was mid range 7nm APU's based on outdated graphics families.

18 hours battery life? Probably in one of those 17" 4KG gaming laptops (because those have space for a big battery) while idle.
    Better multi-threaded performance? 4 vs 8 cores.
Better iGpu? Beating the Intel iGpu barely qualifies as getting out of the starting gate.

Asus hit 16 hours for light usage

down to 10 in mixed though

guessing this would be a similar claim

The unqualified '18 hour battery life' is utterly meaningless. Makes about as much sense as declaring in isolation 'Kaby Lake has a 22 hour battery life' because the HP Spectre Folio exists.

Yup claims need to be backed up with numbers, I mean I can make my i7 8565 Zenbook Pro do 20hrs but that’s when I am not doing a great deal apart from web/office/email doesn’t mean it is particularly efficient, it has a pretty big battery :D
