    Hi

I've currently got an E6320 clocked at 2.5Ghz but have now bought a E4600 for my son's PC. Is the E4600 faster that the E6320 if I can clock it to about 3Ghz? If so I may have it and give him my CPU. Mean I know but I have paid for it.

Why carnt you clock the E6320, because of the high fsb needed?

The E4600 would beat it at 3ghz easily, cach does help but isn't going to help as much as the bigger overclock will.

I don't really want to push up the volts. My 6320 tops out at just over 2.5 without increase in voltage, i've heard the E4600 will generally do 3Ghz without upping the voltage.

Maybe your motherboard has vdroop issues, ive never heard a cd 2 chip top out at 2.5ghz stock volts.
