Hi everyone, Looking for the "best" Modular PSU for around the 60-110 mark (cheap as possible please) wants to be 700W+ I want some overhead, my likely max requirement is about 600W, give or take a bit more or less, but I want to keep it for upgrading my PC later, and my current PSU is non-modular 600W refurbished. GPU is finally upp'd (Update on that later i suppose :/) new PSU is a requirement next as a HD6850 --> GTX670 and more toys to come.... (plus I want modular) I have been looking around but I really don't know what I'm doing with PSU's
You could do a lot worse than a SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 750W or the same thing in a different box. The EVGA has a 10 year (on registration) warranty vs 5 years on the SuperFlower.
The EVGA has a decent warranty. I installed an 850 EVGA in to my own rig the other week and I am pretty happy with it so far.
That sounds about right and what I'm looking for. I'm aiming for a mostly silent build. Hows the noise? I presume the fan doesn't spin up unless you're pulling serious power?
I'd go with an EVGA. Cords are beautifully sleeved. All either black or red. No oddball colors to throw off your scheme. Not to mention the 10 yr warranty. Just get a PDF of your reciept from Scan or whomever you buy it from, set up an EVGA account and upload the PDF with serial # etc... Takes 5-10 minutes and you have yourself a 10 year powersupply.
Yes the fan wont spin up until the PSU reaches a certain temp and even when they do spin up, they are usually very quiet.
I haven't noticed any noise coming from the PSU's fan. It's silent. The cables are brilliantly crafted/sleeved.
If you would like a better look at the cabling of an EVGA PSU, the picture in my sig is of my current system with an EVGA G2 1300W PSU. Cords look great without the orange red etc... showing. Saves you having to pay for individual sleeving.
I've read good things about the Corsair CX750. I have one of those series in my case (can't remember which one) and its been good for about a year and was good to install.
