Hmm well I had a Gelid arrive to me wired up wrong ! It's clear that these cables are being made in sweatshops in Thailand or something and the workers are making mistakes with them. Glad you're sorted Cei, there's nothing worse than a random fault :S
had a similar issue with my pc the other day. I'd mixed up a cable and it was doing all sorts of weird and wonderful things. Crashes, hard drives disappearing... bla bla. Changed a single cable and fine.
