Ok now can some one explain this weird Quake III & Windows XP problem to me and how to stop it?

Well when we put the Windows XP on everything went smooth, loaded all my programs, utilities and of course Quake III.

Well when I was messing with the config in Single player, I noticed a message saying “Authorising (IP) blah blah” when people started to connect to me!
I could understand this if I had made a server for the net, but this was single player?

Can I not practice in peace without Bob with his 300+ ping moaning :)

    I want it stopping.
    Help!
