Not entering this one, but I had a go at tilt shifting one of my other pics.

Yeah, that's sorta the point of tilt-shifting. :) I know it's not the best example of the technique but it's my 1st attempt.

Similar to what I'm planning, going down to see the steam train at Bo'ness next week.

I like the first one best, however, I would straighten the horizon and boost the contrast and saturation just a little.

That tunnel is in my village, so we get to hear the trains chugging along the line a few times a day. It's pretty cool. :D

I'm going to head down to the station at Horsted Keynes on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th when they'll have Thomas the Tank Engine and friends visiting. See if I can get any better pics. Link

Edit: Removed my 2nd pic, and updated the 1st. Any better yodasarmpit?

Did you do the tilt shift physically or with photoshop?

Because everyone has a tilt-plane camera, right? Right?

    you don't need a tilt-plane camera.

but then again you can also get a similar effect (sorta) through post-processing

    And I thought I was "1337" because I had a 5 megapixel camera in 2003...
I have never heard of tilt-shifting in my life. Seems I have a lot to learn.

    Likewise, but it's cool :)

And I assume it's used to make a model a bit more lifelike?

Quite the opposite - it's used to make life a little more model-like :D

Well you can forget me going down to Horsted Keynes today. The weather is atrocious. I don't fancy getting completely soaked just to get a photo. I doubt the lighting would be any good either... not with those clouds.
