Its so warm out, 5 whole degrees above 0. I woke up to leave for work on monday morning and looked at the thermometer, -17F out, this morning wasnt much better at -9. The lake is even frozen (Lake Michigan).

Who else is enjoying this wonderful weather or something worse.

Yeah...it was 244.261 K here(-20F) after windchill around here yesterday, I don't know if the lake was frozen in Chicago, but it was cold. Much better today, the high is 8! It snowed though, shoveling sucks.

    Kelvin: the best temperature scale!

Yeah, I live in Chicago as well, and it's Arse Fricken Cold up here. I have to leave my car on 10 minutes to warm up, and then the power steering is frozen until I have arrived at my destination already. Especially bad are the little ice crystals that like to grow on the inside of my windshield. :grr:

Yeah, we've had a pretty warm winter this year, relatively speaking. About 15f (-9c) here right now, which is about as cold as we get. Of course, when it hits the typical -20f or so, you can bet I'm not leaving the house. Except for that time I was camping in it... *shiver*

There's going to be 6 foot of snow tomorrow, apparently.

Bindi: I still have it good down south in Helsinki. I read this morning in Lapland was it -39.9C! Now that is just cruel.

...but it could well be 6 foot, for all it's worth. Over an inch of snow in this country and it grinds to a halt!

    Pfft. you think thats cold?

I love Saskatchewan! Only -31C today. I'm expecting a -50C day with the wind chill in the next couple weeks. (happens every year). You do not want to go out in that kind of cold.

calculating temperature with wind chill is cheating,

Here we had about -12 C this morning. And this is the warm part of this city. On the other side of the city it was about -22deg C this morning.

When you get wind chill in with the temps then its about -30 F. Im just glad I dont live farther north, but on a lighter side I can see open water on the lake today. :thumb:

let's see it wasn't too bad this morning only around -27 C after windchill. Monday was nasty though a high of -39 C with the windchill :) I am soooo glad i have a down filled parka.

Welcome to ottawa one of the coldest capitals in the world and the most fubared weather i have ever seen.

Winter (with wind chill) can go down to -40 to -45 Celsius
Summer can go up to as high as 40 - 45 celsius

100 Degrees of temperature change, it's really starting to mess with the wildlife.
