    Hi,

I've just finished buying the parts for my new rig and can't get it to boot to so much as the POST/BIOS screens. Instead I get a beep error code (1 long, 2 short).

    I have
    ASUS M2N32WS Pro
    6x WD SATAII 250Gb SE
    Gainward 7950 GX2
Cheap second hand Ati AX300 (for second monitor)
    Athlon AM2 4600+ 64 X2
    Geil G.Skill 2x 1Gb DDR2 800Mhz

At the moment I am using the stock CPU cooler (3 pin fan), and I noticed the motherboard was a 4 pin header, would this make a difference?

I have also tried using the graphics cards seperately.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you in advance

Look up the beep code on the Asus website - that's your problem.

The error code shows up as a graphics error, but I have tried both graphics cards on their own, in both slots and reseating them. Does it sound like the mobo is bjorked?

Could be, you have you made sure that they are seated correctly, the motherboard is on standoffs, nothing caught behind it?

I currently have it set up outside the case and resting on a cardboard box, I have tried reseating them multiple times and in both slots.
