Wow, Very different! Not my cup of tea necessarily, but I can see how it would appeal!

It's not the sort of game I usually play but I feel strangely intrigued. I'll be watching this one closely I think.

Sounds great. Hopefully it'll retail for ~£20-25.

    This looks quite interesting actually.

    Joe,

Is there no fighting in it at all then? Can you even go to war? Are you able to deliberately breed certain traits into the family with a view to a military campaign in the future?

From what I understand there is fighting and basic strategy elements, but I haven't seen them in detail. I'll bring you more info nearer release though, don't worry.

There is fighting, the first game has a system in a similier vein to Europa universals 2. I'm guessing CK2 will have a modified EU3 combat engine with less reliance on dice rolls.
However you have to raise standing armies and they are cripplingly expensive. If you raise all your men in a well developed country it will be at least 4 time your total budget so campaigning require a long period of saving.
The idea is to expand via marrying into other family lines.

The concept definitely differs on the typical strategic conquer all your neighbors games. I look forward to hearing more about it when it's finished.

This sounds great, Paradox has been on a roll with these semi-indie titles and I'm liking it.
