you still have to create a gamespy account as far i can recall. I've noticed that the game has a habit of forgetting my stats. i was level 7 and it now says i'm level 4.
Plays very smooth with the settings they let you use. Looking forward to the campaign which is what Crysis is all about for me. Eddie
What kind of performance figures are you guys getting? I keep hearing everyone saying that the game runs silky smooth, but for me it doesn't run much better than the original Crysis. I'm getting ~60 FPS on the hardcore setting @ 1680*1050, should I be seeing more than that? Even Crysis 1 runs at ~50 FPS at the highest settings and same resolution for me. Also, they seriously need to add a toggle ADS option. I can't stand games that don't have one and force you to hold down the right mouse button whenever you want to aim.
Meh, I enjoyed the multiplayer overall but didn't think it was anything special. It does seem very much like a console game which was ported to PC as an after-thought. The graphics are worse than Crysis 1 (IMO), and auto-aim is just weird. I thought I sucked, but I disabled auto-aim after remembering hearing about it and I got good. So might have been that. Will look forward to the reviews of the single player. I won't preorder, but might buy it in the future depending the quality and length of the single player. For multiplayer will stick to Battlefield. Having said all that, I think this game will be massively popular in the consoles. I think it'll do badly on the PC and Crytek will blame piracy. (Despite it simply being a console game and not a PC game..)
Hope so also. Just downlaoding it now via steam but it is going at a snails pace. I'm getting 479kbs on a 50 meg connection. Looks like the whole world is downloading from steam.
Managed to get an account, played not even half a round before I lost connection, now waiting in the lobby for a game to start. Not only is there no start or ready button but the word button gets ***** out if you type it. but apparently bumsex is ok.
I am getting 48fps plus, it does drop to under 40 for a bit sometimes. I am running a 980X, 12gb of ram and two MSi 5850 Frozr II's in Crossfire with a Corsair F60GB SSD and Xonar sound card. If anyone is having flickring probs see here, worked for me: http://www.thepsyfamily.net/forum/index.php?topic=14631.0
I finally got to log on and....... NO INVERT MOUSE ??????? ARE YOU @$%#? KIDDING ME ??!! EDIT: my bad ..
I had a poke about in the folder and discovered an xml file you can edit to alter certain graphics settings, controls, sensitivities etc... My opinion so far, Its now ****ing 4am, dont ask my opinion, ****ing crysis 2 multiplayer beta....
Your backwards there knuck... lol Also I do not like having to hold down right click to keep my sights up. FIX IT NOW EA. Game plays well on my older system, better than expected in fact... I wonder if its rendering to all three of my screens (its mirrored on the left and right monitors). Also I dont like the HUD that much, it feels like its retarded. It needs a few tweaks, but overall I am pleased with MP. It could be the next big thing if they dont screw it up.
what are you dense? I use invert mouse and theres an options menu with OMG INVERT MOUSE OPTIONS! try harder before asploding everywhere edit: FYI make a shortcut and spaff for anti console victory \Crysis 2 Demo\bin32\Crysis2Demo.exe" +g_SkipIntro 1 +cl_fov 80
As Gunsmith said to change the FoV you have to create a shortcut and add: +cl_fov=90 +r_DrawNearFoV = 90 +pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 90 +r_MotionBlur=0 +g_skipIntro=1 So an example would be: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2 Demo\bin32\Crysis2Demo.exe" +cl_fov=90 +r_DrawNearFoV = 90 +pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 90 +r_MotionBlur=0 +g_skipIntro=1
Greetings! Crysis versus Crysis 2 screenshots: http://www.overclock.net/pc-games/954287-side-side-comparison-crysis-2-vs.html
How depressing. In 3 years we have gone backwards about 5. EDIT: To ward off depression I recommend this post.
