I'm playing a lot of DCS world at the moment and would like to mod a spare keyboard to use for that game, but still retain my normal keyboard settings.
There are a lot of keyboard button combinations to use in that game and instead of pressing multiple keys at the same time I would like to have the spare keyboard show as a joypad controller so I can map it ingame, that would ideally give me the full 102 keyboard to map as I wish.
    Long story short:
There are a lot of ways to make a joystick or pad act as a keyboard (Xpadder/Joy2Key) but there seems to be no way to do the opposite.
Is there a way to mod the HID descriptor on the device or even the driver to identify the second keyboard as a joystick or a custom keypad?

I don't know much about it. But I think you might find some stuff if you look at building a joystick or keyboard using a Teensy/other micro-controller.

Other guys from the Mechanical keyboard thread will probably have a better idea.
