It always gets me when you see the factories behind the big Asian computer brands. I'm always expecting a futuristic, clean and modern facility. Both this and the previous DFI articles show some pokey little factory in the middle of nowhere :)

Goes to show what can be achieved with limited infrastructure!!!

You can see WHO built it! :eeek:

Andy, unfortunately you've been spoilt by images of Intel clean rooms. No real factory is ever like that, especially in a hot and humid climate - Asian or otherwise! ;)

Actually seems to be a pretty much human involved effort, small number of staff and pretty much entirely hand built.
Now I know why they are so damned expensive!

Brilliant article Bindi, I love the attention to detail and quality that Lian Li spend on the cases.

    Top man! :thumb:

Very interesting article. I was surprised by the lack of aluminium in the reception though...

Great that they take so much care in making them but they dont reply to one of my 3 emails I have sent them looking for a replacement part for my case. I hate trying to get help from big companies.

That's the thing that struck me, they aren't a big company, quite small really.

They employ very few English speaking people. If you want parts you have to ask a local retailer of Lian stuff to ask the disti if they can get one in the next Lian shipment. That's the only (convoluted) way unfortunately.

The place with the best selection for Lian Li parts seems to be caseking.de - you will have to know what you are looking for though as the item descriptions are in German (assuming you don't read German).

As i am busy modding a Large Lian Li case, i`m becoming a fan.
Its impressive to see a large professional organisation setup to build cases. However, i would like to help and improve their designs, maybe they need to read more Custom PC case reviews.

Yeah. I certainly don't mind spending £300 on a Lian Li, I know quality is their game, and they're decent as a company.

I order from German sites from time to time and just use Google translate to get by.

This was a fascinating article to read, and as many people have touched on - you get the impression that Lian are a massive company, but they're not, just a small company with a large customer base :)

Nice job on getting the tour Bindi :)
