Dismisses rumours of an impending sale. http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/2014/03/10/committed-xbox/1
No smoke without fire. In their statement MS say how good the xbox with specifically saying they intend to keep it, almost sounds like a sales pitch!
Would be a extremely dumb decision to pump 4bil into it ( that's there last estimated spend on Xbox) then sell it onwards. Who would they sell it to would be a question as well. Who has 8-12bil spare it would surely cost. That actually wants a part of a console market won't be many takers if any. Xbox 360 launched with 1 year lead on ps3. By the time ps3 did launch 360 was cheaper with better game selection. They both launched together this time makes it a different battle. Price is winning currently as its enough to sway a purchase decision in favour of one or the other. They also need to improve its popularity with asia gamers as its a market they have never really done well in.
Facebook? Then they could call it the Facebox one. This would explain MS's bizzare choice to call it the Xbox one in the first place.
Originally, it was the DirectX-Box. That was likely just an internal codename, but making it XBox wasn't an unnatural progression.
