More account options (name + deletion)

    There's nothing worse than a very restrictive login system, for any kind of account. I think there should be more optitions to allow users to completely change their user name or even delete their account.

    Just a thought, let me know what you think. :)

    The percentage of users who would use those for legitimate purposes are small, the name-changer is open to masses of pranks.

    Deleting a profile makes the place look untidy too really.

    I wasn't asking about changing my own, just think there should be more freedom to do so.

    The freedom is there, I have changed my name on these forums. I pm'd Bindi and had it changed within a couple of hours.

    Should be even quicker now any of us mods can do it. Ghys asked me and it was done in less than a minute :D

    As for the original suggestions, I'm afraid that would be far too open to abuse. For the reasons Krikkit gave and also if someone got access to your p/w somehow and deleted your profile or changed your name... just wouldn't be good.

    Yes, Krikkit is right, allowing people to have free will to change their names would open the place up to so many shenanigans as well as making it hard to identify people.
