Ok, so first serious mod. Wanting to lay on the heavy with UV green/green acrylic. Same goes for the lighting which will be green.

    Here's a couple of sketch-up designs.

I based my design on the i-Cute XL 0408. Here are the orignal pictures of it. Thanks to i-Cute for the original pictures.

To start with I cut the design in the top of the case, the little logo some of you might recall where it's from! (Hint: TA)

To start with I cut it out and it was fine, but I don't really like it now that I've cut it out. (doh!) So I was wondering if I should change it to this instead?

Instead of that logo, have a rectangle of UV green acrylic there showing off the HDD's.

I thought this might look better, as I've removed the HDD cage. (Although I've removed the rivits for this, a few screws will have it back in place) And want to place the HDD's in the drive bay cage instead as there's 5 bays, and I'll only be using the one for a DVDRW.

The circle part would be a 120mm green LED fan. Although I may just leave this area blank. As I don't know if it will interfear with the PSU.

The wavey design on the other side will again be like the design on the top in raised UV green acrylic. If I don't light this up with white LED's I'll leave it for a UV cathode.

On the front you can see the DVDRW drive marked out. Below that is the USB/Firewire/fan control that's on the front of the case. Below that is another 120mm green fan. This fan I assume was placed here to cool the HDD's that would have been in the cage. I'm not planning to mod this area.

Although I do have an idea on the actual door. There's a peice of plastic that comes off from the middle of the door. I'm thinking of drilling a hole on each side of this removeable peice. Once I've done that threading some EL wire (green) through them to make half hoops, going all the way down the removeable peice of the door.

Some clever routing of the wires will have to be done if I do decide to do this though, as I don't want it to catch on the DVDRW.

The main window where you can see all the gubbin's is generally going to be left alone.

To the rear where the PSU and the I/O ports are, This is the area that'll cause me the most headache's. As I plan on removing everything except the PCI metal part. And then getting a peice of 8mm UV green acrylic and doing away with the metal part of the backing. And attach the metal PCI bracket to the UV acrylic. Making the back of the PC both glow up and see through.

The bottom of the PC case is either going to house two 120mm green LED fans, and a small window of UV green acrylic, or just two circles and a small window of all UV green acrylic. I'm undecided as of yet.

Some progress pictures, I'll take some more after I've done some more work.

In the pictures above, I've not done much. Mainly cut out the crappy plastic holders that used to hold 2 80mm fans. I plan on making my own housing for these. Also cut out is the grill that used to cover the 120mm fan. After that it's mainly braiding wires in, you guessed it, UV green braiding!

The hardware I plan on using is as follows:

    Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI motherboard.

    Two XFX 6600GT graphics.

Dual 512mb Kingston HyperX 500mhz DDR CL2 (making 1gb) RAM.

    2x200gb Western Digital 7,200rpm 8mb Cache SATA HDD's.

    NEC 16x Dual Layer DVDRW.

AMD 939 3000+ CPU, I already have another HS bought for this.

Not the most up to date PC, but more than enough for my first mod. :)

Let me know what you think and what you'd change, if anything.

Everything's at the idea's stage apart from the first cut. But that can be cleaned up! Thanks! (ps. don't steal my ideas! :p)

Very nice start. I suggest you make those links pics as people tend not to click :)

I would, but I don't think you can have 40 odd pictures in one post?

Sure you can, or otherwise decide which pics are important and which ones can be left out ;)

Then just change a few of the key development pictures and leave the rest as links...
