Is it possible to add an Illuminated keyboard to a Powerbook G4 that didn't originally come with one?

I have been given a Powerbook by a friend but the keyboard is a german one and I would like to change that to a QWERTY keyboard, while I am at it I thought I could upgraxde to an illuminated style keyboard.

    Is this possible?

    Many thanks from Mac noob

don't think so, mate. there's hardware on the logic board that deals with the illumination.

I'd imagine it is possible, but it won't be easy to do or source the parts nor will it be cheap.

I will have a look at replacement keyboards for powerbooks and see what the setup is for you.

Yes. All the headers are there on the logic board (I've taken mine apart way too many times).
