    What`s the difference in these 2 cores. I`m looking to build / upgrade my present system to a 3800+ based one but want the availability of good o/c`ing.

    I`ve read about the venice oc, how does it compare with the san diego??

    Diego = venice with 2* the cache.
    Venice = 512k, diego = 1mb. (ie FX's)

    Hijack!

    Are there any US retailers actually shipping the Venice cores yet? I'm eager...

    Monarch Computers (apparently an 'Official AMD launch partner') are saying May 6th shipment date for OEM Venices and San Diegos, and May 20th for retail boxes (linky)

    mm tempting! like i've got the cash though :p

    btw, over at xtremesystems they have two threads ready for people to post up their results once they get them ;): reports of over 3ghz on very low voltage (1.3v~) but that was on subzero cooling. Im waiting for some air cooled results :). I'd expect venice and san diego to clock similarly
