Just got home last night from a small trip out to Phoenix, AZ. Weather conditions were good (considering) but unfortunately I wasn't able to go out during the golden hours for any landscapes so I was forced to make the best out of horrible mid-day sun. Common Side-Blotched Lizard Courthouse Butte, Sedona AZ Church of the Holy Cross, Sedona AZ Madona and Child, Sedona, AZ (Located beside the church) Forgot the name of this formation, Sedona, AZ -Matt
Did you use a polarized filter for any of those shots? The blue sky is incredible for "horrible mid-day sun". I particularly like the second one - even though it's not really a picture of anything, it's interesting to look at. I like the way the lake just barely peeks out to offer some contrast.
I think the Madonna and Child and the first landscape shot are the best. I think the last shot is onto something but I would have liked it much better if the branches were utmost foreground taking a lot more domain. It's a pleasure to see you venturing into landscape photography as well
Thanks, Buddy As for the lizard the background was very busy so I felt the need to open up a bit to get rid of it (IIRC f/8)...I do agree the lizard itself could use a bit more DOF.
