Yes.. his figures do seem a bit... err... fecked. Your 5900 seems pretty comparable to my 9800pro from what I can see... but is is reflashed... stock 5900 would be a different matter however... but 100fps difference?? No way... sheer lunacy

those results were before i flashed, so it was a 5900
the state my card is in now would blow those away

Hmm.. dunno about a stock 5900 beating a 9800pro.. maybe your figures were high, but their not measuring just the GPU, but your whole system's graphics performace.... doing a side by side test in the same testbed system, a 5900 would not beat a 9800.. not according to every bench test I've read anyway.

my 5900 was overclocked to around 450/975 i believe when i was doing those tests, if i can remember correctly the CPU was running at 3GHz 1:1 with DDR500 as well
i ran the benchmark several times, each time getting near identical resuslts

anyway, a stock 5900 isnt suppsoed to be comparable to a 9800 pro, the 5900 ultra would be the equivalent nVida card

yeah the 9600XT is imo the best card considering price/quality, the price i have for public is 180€ and rocks, although i don't know the volaris price yes, they seem to bring some nice stuff to the market, just w8 and see :)

Why isn't the 9700 Pro on this list? The reviews I've read say that the 9700 Pro is a better performer than the 9600XT. Considering it was the top graphics cards for months on end, its a deal at $175 (but I suppose most people would be willing to pay the extra $20 to upgrade to a 9800 pro :p).

I can't vote. I have the ATI 9700 Pro. That's what I will keep until the better cards get reasonable. I'll expect to see the new ATI card on the list when it's offered in June?

I got my Power color 9200 for bout 70$ after shipping
id say the 9200 is good for its price i can play Painkiller with 3X smoothvision and 4xAF with decent framerate depending on how many monsters are around me lol.. when i get my 9700pro from froggy ill have 3 extra cards....my 9200,8500LE and my 5200Ultra, the 5200 one of the connectors in the molex thing got burnt.. thing takes up too much power....and the heatsink on it cut my finger. while i was cleaning it out. sharp edges.
id like to say the 9700pro is good for the price

When this poll was made i voted 9600XT, but i think the 5900XT is really good value now, about the same price, if not a couple of bucks more, and oh the overclockablity!

i'd have to say the 9200 is lot of bang for buck tho, 315/422 out of the box with ****ty passive cooling. mind you i fried the thing and had to let it cool down for 2 hours before it was happy to go again ;) :D

9800xt for money, otherwise 9600 xt for OCing. 9800 pro has more pipelines though...

I got my FX 5950 Ultra awhile ago for $293 shipped 2nd day air. Performs great, thus far I have left it at stock, but I wonder what could be done with some OC'ing (as if it isnt an OC card anyways)

this poll is so incomprehensibly out of date that it really isnt of any real use any more
    :worried:
