Ive been using cPanel to manage my websites for quite a while. But I recently came across Plesk, and was quite impressed. So I was wondering which one is most used, and most liked?
Havent used plesk tbh, find cpanel great to use though, some of the skins can confuse it a tad though.
I use CPanel on my site and I haven't had any problems. I just had a whirl with the Plesk demo and it looked pretty nice. However, I like how CPanel displays all my server stats on the left and displays all the different options on one page, unlike Plesk, which sorts them into categories.
Plesk or directadmin I hate bloatpanel aka cpanel. Plesk isnt as bad but isnt as good as directadmin From a host standpoint I love directadmin's small server foot print and super easy skinability (probably not a word but it is now)
Cpanel or direct admin Think direct admin is more graphical than anything else tho, so cpanel all the way
Thanks for the feedback and opinions. I think because Ive used cPanel for a while, and am used to it I seem to stick with it. But Plesk looks good as well, so I may give it a try. Another question: If you were buying hosting, which control panel would you prefer?
I have used both, and i am saying this down and out, I lovev them equally, plesk was cool , cpanel was nice, loads of functions.
Cpanel is well over rated.. Cpanel is a good confusing messing up novel version of linux. If you need to admin linux do it by command base and a shell(best cheap way) or get webmin or plesk. The cheaper.
I've never used cPanel so I can't comment, but my experience with Plesk has been tainted by the ineptitude of the IPP (homepageuniverse), so I have no idea if plesk is any good or not...
Just a bit of phun: If you like a pretty face: Plesk (K.I.S.S.) If you prefer "old" (e.g. experienced, but could use a facelift): cPanel/WHM If you have bad eyesight: Helm (big icons, big buttons, big fonts, no linux) If you want to "get on with it, I know my way around": DirectAdmin If you want the best price/performance ratio: Webmin/Virtualmin (it's that cheap) If you like bugs: Ensim (maybe not completely fair, but there ya go) If you like to get confused: H-Sphere (RTFM) If you are a big spender: Sphera If you are lost: Entrinix ™
cpannel is most used... i didn't find it too bad although the options to me appeared to repeat them selves in different places multipul times with only slightly different things linked to each one... never used plesk
