News Crytek: We didn't confirm Crysis 2 DX11 patch

You may wish to read the article where it's clearly explained that anything not posted on MyCrysis.com may not be genuine, or at least not official. It's not exactly uncommon for something to be in the works and unofficially be announced by someone without authority on the matter, only to be cancelled/postponed later by those with authority.

I'm sure PR managers are getting quite sick of Twitter by now. Something gets posted on a social networking site and people take it as the word of God.

 

The multiplayer is so buggy, I'm staying well clear from it until the next 2 or 3 patches have been applied.
One common example: I got the limited edition which should give you day-one boost to lvl 5.
Now each time I log in it gives me a happy message telling me how much privileged I am to get to lvl 5. As soon as I'm able to connect to a chat room / server (10 or 15 min later) it resets my status to lelvel 1!

Ok, so I play for a while and level up to lvl 3, and then the server disconnects me for no reason. At that stage I'm fed up having spent 45 min just for 15 min gameplay, I log out.
When I log back in again guess what happens!! I am back to level 1 again! How fun is that!

Limited Edition's multiplayer has a built-in vicious circle, for those who like that

Lol that really crossed my mind earlier today

 

Isn't there a way to just force it to use DirectX11? Even if it wasn't optimized for that, if the engine can support those features, shouldn't there be some code you can add to the settings file or something that will force your GPU to render the game with DirectX11 features?

 

it's not that the graphics are bad.. I took these on a gtx460



it's the gameplay that sucks.. the ai is really bad and the suit modes are consolified- actually whole game is consolified to a point it's almost insulting to anyone who's played the original

Glad i held off buying this now. Definitely one to pick up in the steam Christmas sale for £10.

And yes. IF they do make a DX11 patcI wouldn't be supprised if it was in the form of a paid DLC. Hell thats what they would do on consoles, right?

 

Talk about screwing over your original fan base Crytek.
The only reason people waited in anticipation for this game is the mere hope it would be graphically mind blowing.

Don't get me wrong the game looks good. But the minimal graphics interface, and lack of DX11 support for people with cutting edge GPU's, is a sad sign of the company whoring itself out for profit with the console market. It also shows a deep lack of respect for the audience that it originally captivated.

i'm so glad that i didn't buy this. i'll pick it up when it's 5 bucks in a steam sale. What a bunch of sellouts.

 

3 and a half years later, Crysis is still 30$ on steam. I'm afraid you won't play Crysis 2 for a long time

I didn't upgrade from my Crysis 1 @ 45+ FPS on High/VeryHigh rig just to play Crysis 0.5..
I would have thought at LEAST DX10.. DX9 is just old and outdated..

(Haven't bought Crysis 2 and this dx patch shenanigans isn't helping to change my mind.)

The Witcher 2 is coming... PC exclusive, DX11, DRM free. My hopes ride on this now to maybe take the PC platform to the next level.

Just hope the game does not suck.
