Ok guys, here we go! i ordered this case 2 weeks ago and last friday it was here, totally happy, i went to my favourite watercool-store KTC Cooling (here in Austria) and got my whole equipment. first i wanted some blue white theme, but after thinking about it i am back again to blue... i promise some other color next time ;)

so here's a little overview of what i am going to use for this system:
    -A64 socket 754
    -asus k8v se deluxe
    -1Gig PC3200C2 Corsair RAM
-Sapphire 9800pro (maybe some 6600GT or 6800ultra when the project is finished)
    -some harddiscs :)
    -Tagan 480watt PSU

    -AC Aquatube silver
    -AC Aquaero
    -NexXxos XP Silver CPU Block
    -Heattrap NB and GPU Blocks
-Hydor L20 (maybe an eheim,... we'll se)
    -AC HTF-2 Triple Res

the case, a virgin right now, but not for long :hehe:

i am going to use these titanium screws for the window on the right side, they are from lunsford which is a high quality titanium parts manfacturer from america. this are called fat boys and used for mounting motors in r/c cars.

here some ideas for the harddisc and aquatube placement in the lower part of the case. i am going to remove the stock harddisc-holders and the third "thing" next to them (sorry for that ugly english) - and replace them with a plexi construction that i am going to buil myself

my work space (a little chaotic right now, but will be done next week :) ) - you can see a lot of color-cans as i am painting ans airbrushing lexan bodies for r/c cars:

lets begin, first the window. i decided to use a standard square one, as the other side of the case will be decorated with some plexi and chrome with the letters "b3" (which stands for bLu3) which are lighted (i will release for on this idea later in this post). another reason for a square window was, that i liked to see the enterior interior of the case :)

i think al bundy's psycho dad looks like this :D

with air cooling at the moment (omfg shame on me  - but i dont wanted to fit the wc into this small 601 case, which is only for the time i am modding on the v2000)

    right now i am here:

cutting this plate, so the side side panel with the window will fit.

    the CPU block

thats it for the moment... today unicversity began here in austria - so i have one more thing to consider... but as a serious modder... what's more important than modding? :D nothing

    next things to do:

    - builing the blue plexi construction for the hdds and the qauatube
    - sleeving the psu
    - fitting the radiator and cutting the plexi therefor
    - getting the b3 logo cut
    and much more...

here's a preview for the logo:

Looking like an excellent start. That radiator's mahooosive! If I were you, I'd add my PSU and HDDs into the water-cooled loop :)

Personally I would've separated the top part from the bottom part with two windows... like so:

But, it's your case and I do admit that it looks very nice. This project looks very promising, so I will add it to my favorites :)

You've got a lot of balls (Or money.. for that matter) to be modding a 250 dollar case :p ...and, that is one large radiator :D

Looking very promising. I love to see a modder with the guts to cut open a Lian Li !

    The radiator is looking kickass!

The reservoir is very nice, but everybody has one... so since this is already a newer case, and a less familiar radiator, I would like to see a other kind of reservoir.

but I must admit its one of the best looking reservoirs I've seen.

    Good luck with the modding.
And I do agree on the fact that the window would look better in two parts. But its a little to late for that, isn't it. So lets move on !

    Looking forward for updates!

    good luck

Who in their right mind would spend $250+ on a case and then NOT mod it? I mean it's not the zalman noiseless one, and that's not meant to be pretty anyways. But yeah, that rad is huge. I was wondering why you were going to do the bottom mount at first till I remembered that... oh yeah... duh... it's a v2000. Shame on me, I've only spent months trying to figure out if I can do the same thing and still use any PCI slots :hehe:

I agree about the window though, I'd have personally gone for two seperate areas. In fact I probably will if I ever get the money...

Superb work- you're working with the case of my dreams (with my checkbook looking on and frowning). How did you get those cuts SO clean? That couldn't be dremel work... that's like laser-cut good. The sad thing is I'm not even joking at all...

I don't get why, but everyone loves that case from Lian-li?? Eh oh well looks good so far. where did you get your screws for the window i've been looking for something like that for my project when i start my window??

Also i was just looking at some stuff on the net and then it hit me, why not put one of these babys in your PC to help out the blue aspect??
    Ultra X-Connect Blue PSU
I thought it was cool looking, also you going to paint the inside of it blue or do you want the silver to help reflect the cathodes??

I love that case. It really makes me want to sell my v1000 and just pick up the V2000 and be happy :-D. Anyone want to buy a V1000B???? :D
The case and progress looks amazing. Can't wait to see the finished result.

Very nice work Blu3. I think the Lian Li v1000/2000 cases are the best looking boxes on the planet, and with your clean mods you have made a good thing even better....... Keep it up fella............
