Any ideas? Was looking at this for 60 quid http://www.scan.co.uk/products/240g...c-flash-read-450mb-s-write-450mb-s-85000-iops Has to be a SATA3 drive for my X58 MB. Budget is around £80 max.
Really not a great choice; both as it's an async nand 2nd gen sandforce drive... ...& as you can currently get the 250GB 850 Evo for £65 delivered - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-2-5-Inch-Solid-State-Drive/dp/B00P736UEU - which is vastly better.
Another vote for the EVO 250GB. It's an extremely quick drive. The Kingston is ... 'meh' at best. It's not worth saving a few quid to sacrifice on performance like that.
Awesome!! You're going to love it. The performance will be quite limited by the dated controller on your motherboard, but it will be leaps and bounds faster than the HDD that you're using.
Yeah the Sata3 controller on my MB (Marvell) sucks so got it on Intel the Sata2 chip. Like you said, it is leaps and bounds beyond my HDD
