Just ordered some bits, PolarFLO CPU and VGA blocks, and DD res.
Got a CSP-MAG and a HE120.1 to go with it.
    (all 1.2 bore)

Also ordered some Zerex, remembering its good stuff or so Nexxo said so ;)
What kinda Ratio should be used with Distilled water? :) thanks

Can't wait to get this up and running :) Pics soon, next weekend probs, working uber shifts next week! :/

Is it not just a capful for the whole system? or is that another additive ratio

Yes, 5% ratio of Zerex Racing to distilled water. "A capful" is not really that accurate, depending on how big the cap is and how much coolant goes into your loop.

EDIT: Is the CSP-MAG pump ok mounted in a different way, say, on its front?
And, just checking this is ok?

RES>PUMP>RAD>VGA>CPU>RES> (probably gonna be easier to route)

    If not, then

    RES>PUMP>RAD>CPU>VGA>RES (obviously)

Always go to the cpu first before the gfx card.

    The pump will be fine

I've never understood why people dont, use a y-splitter at the pump with one one going into the CPU and the other to the GFX then using another Y-splitter to join them. Like this...

    ............................/ -CPU-\
    RES--->---PUMP->-/...........\--RAD-->RES
    ...........................\.........../
    ............................\-GFX-/
That way the coolent would be the same temp, and not slightly warmer if coolent has passed over any componanats before.

Because the flow between them isn't even and one could get almost no flow that way. If you had two pumps but joined after the blocks you'd be OK.

    OK, one more time...

    It really makes no difference!

You can happily put the VGA block before the CPU block. The difference in temperature between coolant entering a block and leaving it, is a few degrees C at most.

For that reason also, ChromeX, you really do not need to faff about with parallel loops which will give you a load of logistical problems anyway. As was just said above, flow will be split. That is bad. Moreover, it will be split unevenly, with the branch with the most resistant block having the slowest flow. Coolant simply will favour the route of least resistance (spineless substance that it is).

Yeah thought so Nexxo, thanks for clearing that up though.
It seems as soon as it piles up and is ready to install, you start asking silly questions :)

No worries. Silly questions was not the problem here, Fury. It was the silly answers you were getting. ;)

    :D heh.
Nah, I do know most of the bits, I just like to confirm things with people who've done it before.
You and Firehed, have and very well :)

best thread ever :) your questions where thought out and you new alot of what you was asking :) few finally. :)

Yup Guestimate ont he zerex unlike WW i've found that you can put lots of zerex in with no added affect :) but al id of it seems too turn your water nice and pink :) lol or purple i can never remember.

Might think about a bigger pump or 2 Mags there not that powerfull.

    Thanks M_D_K!

I've installed the Rad now, in the front, looks pretty good IMHO :D
Anyone wanna host the pics? ;)

Seems my CPU block didn't come with a plug (FYI, the polarflo ones have 2 outlets, but you can block one) So, i'm gonna have to use both, and a Y piece.
Yet even harder tube routing! :/

Oh, and is it worth leak testing?

Second mag will be added soon! :) (no funds atm for one lol)
Glad to hear about the Zerex thing, I'm not good at ratios :)

OK! Just I know some people don't! :p
Good thing the case is bare atm, I'll set up all the tubing now, and leave it running for "24h" (more like 6h, who honestly bothers leaving it for 24?)

just people who dont' have money for new hardware ;) :duh: :worried:

6~ish hours should be more than fine, just make sure you dont' twist anything funky when you put your componets back in- if you're worried jump the ATX with the system in- easier to clean up some coolant up off a board/graphics card when they're not running ;)
