Ill be the first to admit i know nothing of current, resistors, something called alms? lol
What i want to do is have 2 separate strings of 3 leds that stem off the trunk. see below
    ____o_____o
    -----<___o____o___>
How would i go about wiring that together with resistors and all necessary stuff. Thank you in advance, someday i hope to get this down at least. but gotta start somewhere

    12v supply (yellow Molex wire)
Diodes are polarised, the longer leg is the anode (goes towards the positive side of the supply). Resistors can go in either way round. 1/4W resistors will be fine.

    Assuming:
    3.2v forward voltage LEDs
    25mA forward current

    mvagusta and HiRO like this.

Not a problem. Post again if you need more help with wiring it together from the schematic etc.

Hah, and here I spent ages turning my brain into a personal LED and resistor calculator. Oh well, it's still quicker working it out in your head than going to an online calculator :)
