It's me again but this time i have a question about controller cards. If i install a controller card in my system (Abit KT7), would the card give me an extra 2 IDE channels (e.g. UDMA-100 RAID) which i can use at the same time as the 2 i already have?

This is probably a really silly question but why didn't you buy the KT7 raid?, that has 4 ide channels built in and is only about £20 more.

At the time i REALLY didn't have the money for a RAID board(why else did i end up with a duron 700???). Coz i didn't need raid i opted for the kt7 (plus i didn't have as many drives as i do now). Hardware doesn't usually last me long before i upgrade but i've come the the [unfortunate] decision that i don't need to upgrade my board for a while. Roll on cheap TBird 1.2GHz!!!
