So, i got a little bored, and thought i'd do a quick little project. the victim? the shroud from my gpu. this is what it looked like originally: pretty gross, TBH. just... tacky. and cheap looking. i've always loved the look of my old EAX1950Pro from asus, which had the best looking stock cooler i've ever seen: so, i decided i wanted white. also, i didn't want to go just white, so i thought i'd add an embellishment... a go faster stripe! don't think it will make games any faster though so, after a load of sanding, spraying, sanding, and more spraying, the result is thus: i'm still waiting on a domed ATI radeon badge to finish off the look, but this is the pretty much finished product. just need to touch up some white parts and i will be happy with it
That go faster stripe should give you an extra 3 or 4 fps. At least. Seriously, that looks cool - it's a shame it'll be hard to see when installed in a case.
Have a mirrored base in the case...lol ..thats what I'm doing to my current mod. Other than that it looks good, the colours work well together.
Cool! And the speed stripe only makes it... cooler! (I'm laughing myself to death at these implied not-very-punny/funny cooling puns!) A lot better than the original, that's for sure. I think the fan looks good in it, but as the post above mine alludes to, you never know what you might come up with. Maybe something even cooler (I'm going, I'm going...!).
How about getting rid of the green XFX logo in the middle of the fan? Just have a plain black center or if you are feeling fancy, make your own logo to go in the middle
U could spray the raised rim of the fan hole in black and the fan white...that would look cool too....
I think that looking frakin awesome, really professional. I actually quite like the red fan in the middle, it matches the slight bits of red on the ATI sticker and the DVI port. I'd have been tempted to peel off the XFX sticker, but the question would be would I leave the space blank or a get a new sticker design? Hmmmm
