    Hi guys,

My sister has just came down to me with an issue with her laptop (Acer Aspire 5732Z) - it no longer recognises that she has a DVD drive. Her being a casual gamer, this is an obvious disadvantage to her.

The DVD drive still seems to work by itself - i.e. the light flashes when a CD is put in, but then nothing.

Now, my experience with laptops is virtually non-existant.

Does anyone have any idea what might have gone wrong, and how to fix it?

Edit: It's fixed itself. No idea how. Anyway, thanks.

might just be a bit loose remove it and give the connections a blow, and replace it. If that doesn't fix it, have a look at the bios and ensure the drive is registered in there.
