My buddy has a new iTouch he's itching to get hooked up to a network.

Under draconian wireless restrictions here at the office (i.e., we don't have it), we've been forced to set up one rogue laptop w/ a broadband card.

How can we get the iTouch on the internet using the already-connected laptop as our gateway to all things fun and wonderful?

    Thanks!

You should be able to have the laptop use Internet Connection Sharing spit out a WiFi signal to which the Touch can connect. If they hate WiFi at the office, I'd suggest not broadcasting the SSID, and of course turn on encryption. If it's like the iPhone, it should have no problem connecting to WEP/WPA/WPA2 encrypted networks as well as "hidden" ones.

We turned on ICS for this connection, but it doesn't appear to be broadcasting anything. I think part of the issue might be the broadband card's software managing the connection. We'll putz around in the settings some more and post back.

    Thanks!

After much putzing, we have gotten nowhere. Any more ideas?

    Thanks!
