Would it be possible to power a fan via an electro bus circuit, but still have the fan speed monitored via the motherboard?

This would mean i could have a matrix orbital tell me the system temps, and the fan speeds. I could also have the fan speed controlled via an elector bus, using a thermistor to control the speed automatically.

Also, i mention controling the electorbus (as seen on this site) with a thermistor to give auto temp control... but ive no idea how to add this to the normal electrobus design. Is there away of doing this so that you can still calibrate the whole thing to the temps and speeds you want?

One thing I could think of would be to have the 2 power wires running from the fan to the MO header, but keep the fan monitoring header plugged into the motherboard. About the most I can think of at the mo!
