Hey guys, I hope this is a quick question. Forgive me if I exclude any information as I'm new to this. I just built my first new pc and installed windows 7 on it. It's an AMD Phenom 2 x6 1055T. Right now cpu-z says it's only running at 553.3 mhz.. Is that right? Shouldn't it be 1333 mhz? If it is in fact wrong, how do i go about changing it? This is my mobo: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7109093 and this is my ram: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5688415 http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1879495 <-- here is my cpu z profile.
Its perfect. If you multiply it by two you will gt what it is running at. You mulitply by two becasue it is double data rate ram (DDR) So its at 1100 mhz. You could try and change the ratio to get it to 1333 though.
Ohh, dual channel. That makes sense! Thank you very much murraynt, that makes me feel a lot better. I think I'll download the AMD overdrive utility and let it do it's thing once I get a new heatsink. The stock one is making me deaf... That'll get me closer to 1333 I'm sure.
It's the double data rate, not the dual channel than doubles the frequency. You want to aim for 666MHz to get 1333MHz. You shouldn't need to overclock, you should just be able to change the memory multiplier in the bios.
