well i no this may sound silly...but the way ppl are putting copper piping on the sides of the cases i was thinking...that would it be possile to use plexi tubing and putting water through them, like you can buy the big 4 foot high version from gadget shops, and they have air bubbles pumping through them.if you understand what i mean? and if you could light it from underneath, you could have a kind of water/lava lamp look on the side of the case.

Tell me If im Being Silly

EDIT : SORRY! put this into the wrong forum :hehe:

The problem with that is that air in your water cooling setup is a Bad Thing.

Once you have the system filled with water, you need to bleed all the air out of it for it to work efficently. It's the same with the radiators in your house. If they get an airlock, they don't work properly, and you have to bleed the air out in order for the radiator to heat up properly.

That's not to say you couldn't have a seperate water system that gave you that effect though. You just wouldn't want it linked to your water cooling.

I have seen some one do this to their case, but just for looks, not part of water cooling.

    http://metku.net/index.html?sect=view&n=1&path=mods/bubbles/index_eng

I think that air bubbles in an open resivore would make a great exeriment in cooling.
First off, the air bubble is a sphere, maximum surface area.
Second the air passes through a large part of the water absorbing heat.
Then is is released into the air.
You would need to make sure enough air passes through to take away the heat, but it may work.
You would just make sure that the air bubbles would not be sucked into the rest of the system.

Make it so that the water rises to the top of the resivour, then passed over one side, into another resivour with no air bubbles, and then pull that water into the rest of your system.

I built a water fountain using bubbles for my mother,
It has Blue LED's lighting up the bubbles.
The led's were also on an adjustable strobe, so I got some very cool effects.

But in the end the bottom of the resivour leaked too much, and I scraped it for a copper pipe fountain. (Still lit)

Seen that in couple of cases. Inside an acrylic case and mounted in a hole between two 5.25" face plates.

I am about to mount two of these to my pc:

    Same principle, different shape.
I have also seen the large flat disks mounted to the side of a pc.

I think it can be done, but with GOOD sheilding!

Ah. . . nice, though I was thinking more along the lines of putting an entire globe inside a windowed case.

I might just give that a try. You can probably look for it in the Disaster Mods section. :D

Same here, on the whole Austin, TX thing
Near the corner of Parmer and Metric

I like the whole electo field thing, only if it could be mounted into the case, instead of bolting it to the side, but ahhh oh well :D
