    Isn't the 9800GT more comparable to the 4830 than the 4850? (I'm referencing the points in the paragraphs about the 9800GT comparing it to the 4850)

    Please fix the link on the US price for the Noctua cooler in the premium hardware! It leads to a page to buy the NH-U9B instead of the NH-U12P, and the NH-U9B does not include mounting hardware for socket 1366! That link has been a problem since the December article, and you still haven't fixed it! The NH-U12P SE1366 is out of stock at FrozenCPU.com, so here's a link to TigerDirect, where it seems to be in stock at the moment:

    Um, if the 3.0Ghz 940 Phenom II at stock matches a 3.6Ghz Q6600 then how does the 920 compare? It's the same price point as the Q6600.

    The 3.0GHz 940 will manage the same kinda overclock as the Q6600, so you'll get to 3.5-3.6GHz on it. The 920 doesn't have the unlocked multiplier, so you're going to be more limited in scope when it comes to overclocking, as the HTT/NB clocks don't respond all that well to huge frequency bumps.

    On the Affordable system, I'd rather pay $20 more for a Phenom quad core.

    but seriously its about time the 4830 made it to the affordable system , it OC's like a demon and isnt that much slower clock for clock against a 4850 in most circumstances, but personally i'd recomend the Sapphire 4830 over the one listed, they seem to OC MUCH higher from every example ive seen, especially if you get one of the cards using the Hynix H5RS5223CFR-N0C chips, they seem to be easily capable of over 1100mhz clocks from everyone ive seen with the card (including me)

    I hope AMD soon get their finger out of their (insert favorite bodypart) and gives Intel a good kick, Intel is sitting way too comfortable on the top right now.

    Amazing that the high end system has gone up by £45 in a month.
    Though the premium price has gone down by £20 for essentially identical components as last month.

    It is a shame that you have had to drop the 4850 from the budget build but the 4830 doesn't look bad.

    Do you have any suggestions on an alternative Premium PSU, the Corsair is good but does not have the best efficiency?

    March now. I'm doing testing in Germany after CeBit should all things go well. It's simply having access to test facilities that's limiting us.

    WRG to the premium, I did ask to put in the Antec Signature 850W which I think would be not only cheaper, but better efficiency than the HX1000 actually - must have slipped us by.

    Are you sure he's not talking about the Phenom 920? :p

    Great article again, quick question though: Gaming @ 1680x1050... Is a 4830 enough? The price surely makes it an interesting option.
