Ive seen this before but i do not know what they are called. It was so type of extention that you can plug in the AGP or PCI slot that allowed you to place your video card or other device somewhere else other then directly on the mobo. Does anyone know where I can find those?
Well you can get pci "Riser Cards" or "Ribbon Expansion Cable", not sure if they do / can get agp ones. For card relocation the ribbon cable would be best.
yeah im looking for the ribbon ones, althought they must have specific name because i cannot find any on google but i know they exist because ive seen them b4
Look for stores that sell those VIA mini-ITX boards.... those are the only type of stores that I've seen carry riser cards of any type.
Here are some..... http://store.compute-aid.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=100&type=store look at the different pages.
or you could just skip overpried modding-oriented sops and go right to where riser cards are meant to be sold and used, servers and and places that sell server parts. Particularly rackmountable servers.
the thing is that im not looking for riser cards, im looking for cable type extensions that you plug in the slot and it gives you an extension so that you can place the card somewhere else
Hi, I build rackmount servers and we have used agp and pci risers. They are pretty cheap if you buy them at the source and want simple ones. One problem you may find is prohibitive airflow on the graphics cards. (would recommend an arctic cooler to combat it)
