Windows CUDA support in video editing

I have just been looking into purchasing 'Corel Video studio X3' which claims to be cuda supported. Would I need a Quadro card or would a GTX card do the job?

I know that with adobe premiere pro CS4 only a quadro card will work with the GPU accelerator (elemental accelerator).

It will be interesting to see if all CUDA enabled cards will work with the new CS5, which will probably be released in April

 

Not all Quadro cards support CUDA. Worth thinking about that.

 

I have used cuda on Videostudio x3 (trail) and my geforce210 worked on it but obviously it wasn't worth it on the POS graphics card has only 16 cuda cores. I tried it also on a 8600gt which had the option grayed out for encoding, I didn't look into why though as the 8600gt only has 32 cores if memory serves correctly. So what I'm saying is that you don't need a quadro for it to work on videostudio.

 

The latest Cyberlink PowerDirector can use any G80-onwards card to process animations and encode H264 video...

Also Badaboom will convert any video file into an MP4 using a G80-onwards GPU.
