Open Source Data recovery software

    Hi,

    Any recommendations for decent, free data recovery software on Win7? Just to recover deleted files on a healthy HDD.

    I used to own something for this, but for XP so it doesn't work on Win7.

    Or anything on the Hirens boot CD

    I've had good results from Recuva also, both off SD Card and a HDD.

    I used to use photorec - but that's linux.. may not be as ... pleasant an experience for someone who doesn't have prior experience.

    As mentioned get Hiren's Boot CD. Burn the ISO and then run HBCDMenu.bat. Select programs>recovery>have fun ;) (My personal favourite is DiskGenius)
