Does anyone else get the feeling that Intel has this cool new Atom chip and is flailing around for an application it's really good at?

I quite like it when big companies help smaller ones getting to the market and probably revolutionizing certain areas.
What I do find interesting, though, is the fact they support a company which, in turn, supports USB. Whatever happened to Light Peak being the next big step?

Intel has been on a money spamming spree recently.

They must be damned confident in SB.
