I could answer by saying "Me, when I wrote and submitted over 6 and a half thousand posts to the forum, 99% of which are proof read at least once and demonstrate how the English language should be used."

But that would be arrogant and big headed, and I am neither. Instead I will say this; Nobody "appointed me the trustee of good grammar" but as a concerned forum member I feel like I have every right to both correct people when they use poor spelling or grammar and try to get people into a habit of posting with the best use of spelling and grammar that they are capable of. As I have said before, it makes the site so much easier to read and stops the bit-tech forum from being just another Internet forum with thousands of poorly worded, spelt or punctuated posts. When I see a forum like that, it leaves a bad impression, and that's usually the first impression.

My "Resident grammar Nazi" tag line is a joke. My use of and respect for the English language is not.

Oh is this about the "I" at the start of the sentence? I am recovering from an operation and using some fairly strong painkillers, no excuse but I did miss that one!

This* thread should really die, isnt it about time it was just laid to rest and forgotten before it gets overboard?

    *See what I did there?

Touché has an accented e, like this: é

    You just ASKED for that.

No seriously, I've made my point. No need for it to turn into a discussion because inevitably the discussion will turn into an argument, and at that point, threads will get closed because of it.

    Good, sensible post. :D :p

I know that I'm inviting trouble, because my spelling and grammar are far from perfect. I just couldn't resist.
