So basically I have a EVGA GTX1050 (Non TI) which I know it's an entry level graphics card, I run a AOC 144hz Free sync monitor running at 120hz. Now when playing League I get roughly 150-200 fps and I feel like this should be playing alot more fps than what it is.... everything is on Max, sync is off and anti is also off so the only thing really is textures, is there anyway of keeping the nice graphics but improving on the fps?
So everything is on maximum and you're only getting 150-200fps? This is normal, the game is CPU bound.
I like my games to run silky smooth as possible, and believe it or not you can tell when the frames slow up if you have a keen eye which I have, not to mention I know someone who managed to roughly get over 300/400 frames but his machine is a beast to say the least
It's doubtful you can improve anything, at this limit the game is CPU bound, only a faster CPU (and maybe memory) would help. You can test this yourself by lowering the resolution and benchmarking, you should get around the same FPS. Of course if you're running at 120 Hz you won't see anything more than 120 Hz.
You can only ever see as meany frames as your monitor is capable of pushing out with Hz refresh-rate. Everything else is placebo.
This ^ Your gpu maybe producing 200fps but if a monitor is running at 120hz you're monitor is only drawing 120 per second so anything above that is just wasted power.
The only way to potentially make things smoother would be to either switch to an AMD GPU so you can use FreeSync, or switch monitors to one with G-Sync.
LOL is hard cpu limited having played it myself, 4.5ghz + intel cpu needed for above 400fps + high end gpu ( why you would want this who knows) I personally lock the game to 144hz with gsync and it stays at 144fps the entire game.
