Yep ive tried it both ways round with no success :( I'm not really surprised the drive is on its way out. Half the time it doesnt work it just says no 80 pin connector but if i restart it works fine. ???

Was gonna do the LED on me floppy but decided against it after reading about the amount or resulting deaths.........not fun when you have very little spare moaney :). Think I'll just wait till I'm drunk and then whip out the old sidecutters and soldering iron and have a go when my logic chip is disabled.......:D
Definetly staying away from my DVD and CD-RW though.........dont think that kind of things covered under the warranty!!! :)

The drives fine well as well as it was before :) I havent killed it. I'll be honest though I'm gettin a new soon anyway so I was prepared to risk it. As for the floppy they r only cheap and really easy to do :) I tried to mod my modem and cdrw but they both have really weird leds which ive not seen before :(
