hey guys.. i just finished assembling an AC 12V amplifier kit.. and got the transformer to power it..
it works mighty fine and now its pumping bass real good...
the only thing is that it doesn't come with volume control,
so now.. i have to tweak my fader so that it goes way to the front...
how to i incoperate volume control on this thing...
i know you could use a pot for this.. but what rating and where do i connect it? the speaker outs? the input? or the power?
    pls help..
here are the specs of this kit..

Operating Voltage: AC 12V-0-12V min. 2A
    Total music power: 60W x 2 into 4ohms
    Total harmonic distortion: 0.07% (1W/1KHz)
    Input sensitivity: 300 mV / 20Kohm
Speaker impedence: 60W/4 ohm 50W/8 ohm

it uses the BAC-1411 IC to amplify the music..
    any ideas?

A 47k log (audio) taper pot across the input with the wiper to the amp input should do. Use a dual pot for stereo.

Any purists here will give you the correct impedance match ;)

    drats..
    thats what i'm worried about..
currently.. i'm using a 3.5mm stereo jack -> L&R RCA convertor to connect to the amp...
so now i'll prolly have to hack it up to wire the pot ur talking about..
and will prolly have to observe certain grounding issue to avoid outside interference..
    are there any other alternatives?

You could put the pot in a small project box with 3.5mm jack sockets for your leads. Then you just need a 3.5mm stereo-3.5mm stereo lead.

Plastic will do, screened cables will keep pick-up low.
