Sorry about the bad english, but my first languaje is spanish. New case, being to lazy to cut windows, I got me this pre-modded cobra case. 480 psu, 4 5.5 bays, 8 3.something bays, 2 external. Not bad for $40.
Using a molex for easy power feeding. swichting box, out of a 8 mm video tape case. Just checking the looks, maybe is not good enough.
Interior painting going on. Wife getting mad about the mess. Top window, cutting went bad, need to re-paint the whole thing. I will use some UV paint on these fans.
Blue interior ready, nice ehh? bay bus ready, actually is the first I do. the modo is OEM, so some things are not standar, need to improvise about the joystick port. Mod almost ready, for some reason, I may blame my wife, the missing pictures of the rest of the process are gone. need to sleave those cables somehow. Coolant looks like predator's blood under led light.
Check out the skull, its eyes are red leds, that goes on and off, according to hard drive activity. I made the top window bigger, got new acrylic, put some leds on the side, made an outside aux reservoir, wich now looks like part of some crazy's scientist weird machine. Made some cutting on the windowed side and remove the blades, and replace the fan, so it cools down the chipsets instead of the drive's cables. It's all for now, need to improve the WC, since the cpu stills hot, and will keep working on the frontal. More to come. grettings from the killer surf paradise I live in (aka Costa Rica)
Well I live in Costa Rica, so telling you where I got it won't help much, lol, just to your local wallmart,or keymart, asking for UV painting won't do it, go to the section where all the spray can paints are, and look for it, even tough I don't think they show UV on the label, but maybe "phosphorescent" or "glowing paint", check the caps, the brillant color maybe a clue. hope it helps.
http://www.clearneon.com is cheaper than xoxide. Most party supply stores will carry atleast some UV paint.
You can get UV paint at hobby stores! I used to have a similar case as yours - given it to my parents! And I like the way you've illuminated the windows all over the case! But isn't there too many wires coming out the back?
could u tell me what is this 'power station' is for please? And also how do u use RCA plugs for power?? (sorry probably stupid questions)
Wow my expectations for this mod exceed themselves! But just one thing when you make a baybus try to stack the holes so they are aligned right on top of each other ! or even use some sort of Graph paper to make the evenly spaced! other that that
Ya know, not to be a buzz-kill, but i've seen the style of that case somewhere before... But over all i think it looks great!
Yes, you are right, there is a case, that looks like mine, somewhere in twistedforums.com, ( I should say mine looks like that one) I didn't copy it though, actually a friend of mine helped me out with the idea.
thanks, sure I will re-do it some day, sooner than later, that one was my first bay bus ever. I will make it with some sort of push botton, so I can use the front cover again, cause it can't be closed due to the swicht's sticks.
The "power station" is a trick I used to be able to power up fans and light cathodes in such a way I can disconect them easily any time, ( to replace them, or what ever I need it for) then the power lines come from the bay bus, you only see 2 cables, but there are about 12 inside them, every par, goes to a RCA plug, negative and positive, the negative goes back to PSU, and the + comes from a swicht in the bay bus. I modded the fans and cathodes, so instead of regular molex they use now male RCAs. If you need further help, write down a couple of lines to mmonterov@gmail.com and I gladdy send you the circuit schematics.
I still have to do something about those cables, this mod is not finished yet, need to work on the frontal, any ideas?
