when you actually say lol or n00b or pwned or other stuff in general conversation with "ordinary" people.

when you talk to yourself about whether to get 1x1024mb or 2x512mb of RAM

when your quoted in someone's sig on a 'geek' forum

when you have one computer for net radio/podcasts/mp3s while you game on another with the sound off

when you have CPU-Z in your startup folder

when you literally dream of owning a piece of gadgetery and almost cry when you wake up and you don't have that Phone/CPU/PDA etc. in your hand

when computing is (first) on your interests on your CV/resume

You know it when you try and talk your mum into buying you a laptop so you can carry your MP3 collection with you.(or have a car pc)
when literally everyone of your friends calls you for help fixing their pcs at some point
When you know the people at the local pc shop by first name.
When youd rather talk on MSN than go and get your hair cut (i did today LOL)

When youset up a live weblink of your bedroom, so you can sit in ICT class at school and make sure no-one goes into your room, then turn off the light and the webcam cant see anything, so you text you mum and tell her to go open the curtains.. so you can make sure she dosnt go back in. LOL

... you spend good money buying cheap computer components from eBay to take them apart and see how they work. Said components are then turned into decorations and shown to visitors.

-when your computers worth more than your car(1984 toyota pickup thats falling apart)

- when you're afraid to go to barbershop.
- when during blackout you decide to search eBay for eye replacements with larger ISO...
- when you use Total Commander on your PDA.
- when you use Skyper for PPC to call the girl next door using bluetooth.
- when you design complex graphs for math regents in MS Word because your Math teacher does not know how.
- when your geekness radiates and influences people around you. (my stepmother switched from accounting to graphic design in the middle of the semmester)
- when you talk in IRC and think that it makes you cool.
- when you order highspeed internet connection to the place before actually moving there.
- when people on msn ask you to fix a problem with their computer using Remote Desktop Computer. BTW, they live in another side of the Globe and trust you because you fragged them 30 to 5 in UT/quake/or other game.
- when you use Windows Vista Beta as your primary OS, and reinstalling audio drivers 5 times a day is not an annoyance to you.
- When it is not woth it to secure your HDD and PC Case with skrews.
